One of the toughest aspects of adulthood is managing personal finances. There are so many beautiful, expensive things in this world that are just waiting to be bought, but alas, things like rent and food get in the way. The best thing you can do for yourself is to budget. budget. budget. It’s easier said than done, but budgeting every aspect of your life will help you stay on track. Keep these things in mind when making your budget.
  1. Organize your finances by looking at what you need, what you make, and assess how to sufficiently meet any and all of your payments.

  2. Make yourself payment plans for set, monthly bills.

  3. Assess the value of material items you want to buy. Do you really need that right now? Is it worth it to spend your limited budget on this item?

  4. Leave room in your budget for unexpected costs like car repairs.

  5. Plan for social activities like spontaneous dinners with friends, birthdays, etc.

  6. Try not to spend more than you can afford on credit cards.

  7. Always put a small portion away in your savings. It will add up in the long run and offer a financial cushion for you down the road.

Brainstorm to Success
