It is never too early to start building credit. Proving yourself as being someone who is financially reliable will bode well throughout the years. To start off apply for a credit card, specifically one that fits your financial situation. In order to build credit, you need to use your credit card responsibly. Consider it like a debit card in which you are paying straight from your bank account. This will help you keep track of your expenditures as well as put you in the mindset of using your credit card for purchases you can afford. With this mindset, you already have money set aside to pay your bill. In fact, paying off your credit card bill every month is super important in building good credit. Much like grades, it is much easier to ruin your credit score than it is to build it back up. So start off strong and use your credit card responsibly. You will thank yourself later.
