Sheryl Sandberg is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Facebook. Yes, that Facebook. She was the first woman elected to Facebook’s board of directors. Before her work at Facebook she worked as the Vice President of Global Online Sales and Operations at Google. Yes, that Google. Aside from her incredible career, Sheryl also serves on several boards, is a published author, and continues to be a spokesperson for equality. Her book Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead serves as an incredible resource for professional women everywhere as well as providing insight on how men can contribute to a more equitable workforce and society. She also started a movement to try and “ban bossy” from the everyday language. “Bossy” comes with negative connotations especially when referring to women in leadership positions. Sandberg’s goal is to increase awareness and a rise to action in creating a equal world for all men and women. She lends an incredible hand in the feminist movement and serves as an amazing role model for women everywhere through of all her hard work, intelligence, dedication, and loyalty. For these reasons, Sheryl Sandberg is our #WCW!
